Hey Life As a boy growing up in Chicago, our fearless leader, Rob Wegner, always dreamed that one day he’d be featured on the big screens at Comiskey Park doing… well… anything cool. And now, guess what? That dream is going to come true!
On Sunday, July 23, at US Cellular Field in Chicago (i.e. Comiskey Park), there will be a 15 minute Promise Keepers documentary shown on the “Jumbotron” screens that features our dear friend and ministry partner, Pastor Glenn Bone of Good Seed Ministries, and our very own Pastor Rob Wegner. Members from Good Seed and a host of other Chicagoland churches will be present as well, so we’ll be in good company for hooting and hollering as we watch our own friends’ familiar faces broadcast for the glory of God on the big screens before thousands of people. We’ll also have an opportunity to watch the Sox beat the stuffing out of the Texas Rangers at half the normal ticket price as well, and possibly consume a ballpark frank or two in the process.
Interested? Well, here’s what you need to know:
1) Click here to see the flier from Good Seed Ministries for basic details on the game. Some of these details will be different for us since we’re working through Pastor Bone directly, so you don’t need to send anything in or let anyone else know other than myself or Skip if you’re planning on attending.
2) We’ll be meeting at the park at 10:00 AM at Gate 4 (off 35th St) because there will be lots of things to do before the game starts (including meeting the Sox, being there for batting practice, and being part of the “Parade of Churches” on the field).
3) If you’re planning on attending, please let me (jmagruder@gccwired.com) or Skip Dodge know (sdodge@gccwired.com) so that we can plan for you and give you more specifics about where we’re meeting and what to bring. We need to know by July 17th in order to give Pastor Bone enough time beforehand to secure the seats.
4) We’re all going to be in the “Upper Reserved” section for the game, so please bring $11/person with you. We’ll just collect the money at the gate and give it to Pastor Bone.
5) We will not be providing transportation so please plan accordingly. We will have maps available, so please let me know if you will need one.
6) You may bring spouses, children, and friends, however you will need to pay for them.
Again, let us know if you’re interested and how many you will be bringing and we’ll begin shooting you additional information as it becomes available. It looks like it’s going to be a blast!
All for One!
